Marriage Equality Town Hall Meeting
Wednesday, February 11
7 p.m.., Gambrell Auditorium (Gamb 153), USC campus
Hear from national activists and attorneys about the fight for same-sex marriage across the nation, and what it means for South Carolina! Sponsored by SCGLPM and the Human Rights Campaign, with Lambda Legal, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, USC Student Government, and the USC Bisexual Gay and Lesbian Alliance. (See poster ad.)
Strolling Wedding Party
Thursday, February 12
10 a.m. * Registering for marriage, press conference, Richland County Courthouse
11:30 a.m. * Join our wedding party as we stroll through downtown Columbia!
Bar Hop and Bachelor Party
Friday, February 13
Celebrate marriage with the SCGLPM traveling bachelor party for two grooms-to-be!
We'll be hitting Columbia's hot spots, inviting folks to celebrate marriage equality!
Valentines Day Rally for Marriage Equality
Saturday, February 14
12 noon * Rally for Marriage Equality on State House steps!
2:30 p.m. * Wedding reception, SC Gay and Lesbian Community Center (1108 Woodrow)
Following a 1:30 wedding at MCC, join us at the Center at 2:30 p.m. for a community reception.
Bring your sweetie and toast the newly-weds!
SCGLPM will be distributing a wedding resource guide for same-sex couples and marriage resolution cards throughout the week and at the state bridal show on Sunday, February 15.
Related activities will include a visit by celebrity bachelor James (from Bravo's gay reality show, Boy Meets Boy) to the SC Gay and Lesbian Business Guild on Thursday, February 12, and a blessing of committed couples at the Metropolitan Community Church of Columbia on Sunday, February 15.
