Hello All,
I know I just posted the Pride schedule the other day, but I need to ask a favor. I need for each of you to tell your friends and their friends to make a sincere effort to make it to SC Pride this year. We are having a few...we'll just call them logisitcal problems. Not on our end, but the city's end. Several things are going on behind the scenes not in our favor. It would make a world of difference if we had a monster turn out for both the rally AND the march. The more people we have show up, the less likely the behind the scenes shenanigans we're experiencing this go around will happen again.
I know it seems like Pride only happens once a year, so what's the big deal? The big deal is that in order for Pride to happen every year the planning has to start almost immediately following the current one. So for the event that you guys see as only 2 - 3 days, there are folks who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make that happen...and for NO pay to boot.
I'm asking, nay begging you all to step out of your comfort zones, at least this one time, and join us for Pride this year. Future Pride events may depend on this very one. If you want to do more than just be there and would like to volunteer post a reply and I'll get you all the info you need. Of course, you don't have to be gay to participate in all this. We love all those who support us!
Thanks,
Angie
