Friday night was so much fun. PussyGate Manor (Kathy and I) hosted
roonie's bachlorette party. We played pin-the-penis-on-the-centerfold, went on a photo scavenger hunt and went out dancing. As best I can tell the bride to be had a fantastic night and there are pics to prove it!
Saturday: We drove up to Charlotte for Purgatory! Kathy and I crashed at Toby's. We were all
really excited about
roonie and Josh's "bondage wedding" we had planned. It went off without a hitch!!
roonie looked beautiful, albeit nervous! Josh looked so happy. He was shaking he was so excited!!
dj_spider officiated the ceremony. The words she chose were heartfelt and moving. I was surrounded by teary-eyed and weeping girls as she spoke. I think Toby might have even been getting a bit misty-eyed himself.
achbarr: Your smile lights even the darkest of rooms. It was so very nice to see you love.
myskat: Can't begin to tell you how happy it made me to see you, no matter how brief the encounter.
dj_spider: Thanks for giving me wings! You kicked ass as always and I can't think of anything better that could have been said about our beloved couple last night.
supremegoddess1: It was great to finally met you and your girl in person. I hope you two had a fabulous time. I do apologize for not being a better tour guide/host. I was
very pre-occupied. Hope to see you two again. Tell Lee I said hope her arm heals quickly.
and last but certainly not least,
zebedeegoddess: um, yeah...all I can say here is thanks. You should check my other journal sometime.
Today: The wedding was beautiful and the reception fun....even if we got there kinda late. Lexington is the devil! The reception, per
roonie and Josh's request, was all 80's music....their first dance was to White Wedding. Josh and
roonie looked so very happy and
here are the pics to prove it! My apologies that they are on Snapfish and unedited really. Kathy and I are both really, really tired. I may repost them later, but I wanted to make sure anyone who wanted to see the newly weds had a chance to do so, particularly
dj_spider.
Oh yeah, I caught the bouguet...twice!!!
roonie was purposely, and unexpectedly, pitching it to me. When I asked her why later, she said she really wanted me to get married soon (Kathy and I have been talking about it for a while now). I have been waffling about the wedding/marriage thing lately. Not because I don't love my girlfriend, but because our families are just not taking us seriously. It's one thing to have local, state and federal officials not take us seriously. To have our families not take us seriously, has been utterly eviscerating. I've been trying to not think about it, but I'm pretty much crushed right now. But to have my friend, think of me and my happiness on her wedding day....that's just totally beyond my comprehension.
Nikki, you are and always have been, a wonderful friend to me. I didn't cry at Purgatory. I didn't cry at your wedding. Now, here I sit, in front of my computer freakin' bawlin' because of your simple act of kindness. Today was completely your day, but you still took some time to think of someone else. I have the bouguet sitting in the fridge until I figure out how best to preserve it. I think next to giving me an engagement ring, that's
the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me.
I wish you and Seamonkey all the best. I'm here for you, my love and support always.
