I actually started my non-rugby workout today. My coach lived up to her end and didn't make it like rugby practice. i lived up to my end and showed up. We worked out for an hour. Multi (pronounced mull-tie, that's my coach) is efficient if nothing else. In that hour I ran for 30 mins and worked on 7 different weight stations for the other half hour. I think we did each station for a minute. Doing lighter weight loads, more reps. I'll be working out every Tuesday and Thursday.
Since we didn't have enough working running machines in the gym, the 3 of us went for a run down thw greenway. Running 3 mins, then walking 1. I was actually impressed with my ability to keep going. The last 3-5 mins was kinda difficult. Somewhere in the middle of the run we just did a full out run to a landmark determined by Multi. I was really surprised at myself when it came to that. I did well, I think. Nice form, good stride and ran it all the way to the landmark. The last 1/4 mile is all uphill. Not my best performance of the evening, but it gives me something to shoot for.
I felt like I was so cheating with the weight stations. Since we were going for reps and not strength the weight was way low. I had to focus on not using all my force to push/pull/lift. Instead I focused on muscle control and breathing.
Multi, also gav me a notebook to write down what I eat. I'm supposed to track what i eat so I can start counting calories. Something about resting calorie burning and what not. I'm not that cautious with mu caloric intake so this should prove interesting. Hopefully after a month or so, I'll start to lose a little bit of weight...maybe.
Well off to bed.
