Last week our landlords told us tha we could pull up the carpet in the house if we wanted to. The foyer has hardwood floors and apprently the floors are that way throughout the house. Kathy and I have both been thinking about this for a while and think it would be cool. It would give the house an airier feel and just look cleaner (the carpet is/was tan/beige and is at least 8 years old).

So this past weekend I went into the guest bedroom, moved the TV stand and cut some of the carpet and pulled it back. Just to kinda get an idea of what we'd be facing if we actually decided to go through with this idea. I was surprised that the floors weren't too bad in the area I looked at. So I called Kathy in to check it out. We both agreed that this will be a doable project. We are both aware that there will have to be some work done to get the floors shiney pretty and are willing to put in the work.

That was Sunday afternoon.

So today we get home and are surfing the 'net, unwinding from work. Kathy is sitting behind me at her desk looking up info on removing the tack strips and staples and generally entertaining me along the way. Then after a little while I hear her say:

"So what I'm gathering from these sites is that I shouldn't start this project tonight."

My response: WHAT!!! I COULD HAVE TOLD YOU THAT!!!

Kathy is so not butch.
