Now I need to get dressed. We leaving for ColaTown shortly.
I'm sitting here noticing the aches from the match (not including my ankles) and I'm thinking I might need to invest in shoulder pads next season. I never remember being tackled much or hitting that many people, but I've been told I do hit a lot of people. I know I lead w/ my right side and it's that shoulder that hurts most. The left one hurts too, but not as much.
I know I'm old and not as fit as some other players, but I'm still very good at what I do and effective in matches. I'm still getting better at this sport and that makes me happy. I am nowhere near ready to give this sport up. When I'm old, gray, walking with a cane and hanging out w/ my Canasta buddies and we start talking about our aches, pains and time's slow betrayal of us. I'll remember with great fondness and pride why it is my body is in the shape it is at that time. I'll be able to tell the stories about my days as a rugby player, the people I had the pleasure of playing w/ and against, the parties, the wins and losses, all the other things that come along with this insane sport. I'll be able to look back and say I did something in my life and it still makes me feel alive,
