Feeling like the world's against me..Call me crazy strangely I love the odds

Mine was fine thanks for asking. Well, at least until we came home and found our house had been robbed and trashed! Kathy and I are both fine, at least physically. The dog and cat are fine. Cowboy scared us for a while because we couldn't find him, but he was hiding. The house is a wreck. There are only a few things missing.

I could bitch about how all this makes me feel, but I'll save that for the morning. For now, I am just thankful that my family is unharmed and things aren't as bad as they could have been.

Off to bed soon. I'm staying home from work tomorrow to put the house back together, but Kathy has to go in. I'm tired and pissed and need to get some sleep.

It's almost surreal. Right now, with the excecption of the office that only needs a wee bit more work, the house is back in order. All the fingerprint dust is gone. The entertainment center is back in order. The bedroom back together. The kitchen is immaculate. There is little to no sign of the mess that greeted us a little more than 24 hours ago.

The Xbox and games are gone, but we barely used it anyway. The dvd player from the bedroom, the liquor, a couple of pocket watches and the laptop are the major things missing. A few minor other things as well. All of which can and will be replaced thanks to our renters insurance. Kathy's parents have been super, as always, and replaced all of our groceries.

To our little cleaning fairy who stopped by with pizza and to do whatever was asked, thank you so much. It really meant the world to us. We will have you over for dinner sometime in the very near future.

To all our friends, in real life and LJ land, thank you for all the calls and emails to check on us and the kids.

Kathy and I are gonna chill for the rest of the night and try to get back into our routine. Things really could have been so much worse. Through this, I'm reaffirmed in what matters to me most.
